This Monday is your English Literature Paper 1; the exam will be 1 hour 45 mins.

Remember .... 

Section A: Shakespeare ( Macbeth )

Section B: 19th-century novel ( A Christmas Carol )

You will answer one question on each text:

• An extract-based question
• A question which refers to the rest of the text

All pupils need to revise the common approach to the question. This will include revision of:

• Short textual references ​
• Writer’s methods ​(characterisation, settings, atmosphere, motifs and symbolism)​
• Contextual links and exploring characters as vehicles (society, writer’s intention and/or impact upon the audience)​

Pupils have the Boot camp resources to support their revision of these!
