Girls Football

KS3 girls had the opportunity to attend the Biggest Ever Girls Football Event at Aldersley Leisure Village.

They had four sessions run by professional football coaches. They got to take part in panna football, futsal, a goalkeeping session, and a skills workshop.

A shout out to A Smith – Year 7 for winning a medal for the most dribbles with a football around a circuit in 30 seconds out of all the girls who took part that morning.

The girls were amazing, they had a brilliant day and have come back with some excellent skills to use for their upcoming matches. We are once again very proud.

Imperial War Museum London

29 Year 10 students were selected by their History teachers as a reward for their positive attitude to learning to attend the Imperial War Museum in London/Holocaust Galleries.

Students were able to explore and examine a wide range of sources to further their understanding of the topic area.

Students represented the academy to a high standard. Students were also able to observe some of the landmarks of London e.g Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Victoria and Albert Museum, Westminster Cathedral and the grounds of Buckingham Palace.

A quote from one of our Year 10’s.

“I know that we have covered this in class, but it feels so much different outside the classroom

It feels so real being at the museum” quote from one of our students today.
