From Easter Monday through to Friday, 11 cadets from Wednesfield, joined by around 30 cadets from across the trust and students from Queen Mary’s Grammar School (QMGS), embarked on an exciting and rewarding week-long camp at Inskip Cadet Training Centre.
Throughout the week, cadets immersed themselves in a wide range of challenging and engaging activities, including archery, flight simulators, low ropes, air rifle, and DCCT — a simulated live-fire training exercise using weapon systems currently used by the British Armed Forces.
One standout moment came from Cadet Nina, who proudly achieved an impressive 4mm shooting grouping during the air rifle activity — a fantastic accomplishment that highlights both precision and focus.
Staff from Queen Mary’s Grammar School were full of praise for the Wednesfield cadets, commending their excellent behaviour, positive attitude, and enthusiasm across all activities during the camp. In particular, Corporal Matilda was recognised as a standout cadet, earning special mention for her exceptional contribution and conduct throughout the week.
The opportunities didn’t stop there. On Friday 10th, after already spending four days at Inskip, Corporal Matilda and Corporal Geetika went on to take part in another incredible experience: a STEM event with Atlassian Williams Racing, joining 80 cadets from across the region. This unique opportunity gave the cadets valuable insight into the world of science, technology, engineering, and motorsport innovation.
