Fifty Year 9 and 10 pupils took part in the UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT) Intermediate Mathematical Challenge on Wednesday 28 January 2026. The UKMT is a leading British charity dedicated to promoting mathematical education for young people, and the challenge provided a stimulating and rewarding experience that helped to build confidence and inspire excellence.

Wednesfield pupils performed exceptionally well, achieving eight Silver awards and ten Bronze awards, with all participants receiving a certificate in recognition of their efforts. Special congratulations go to Ekampreet, who achieved the Best in School award, and Joshua, who achieved the Best in Year Group award. Further National Maths Challenge opportunities will be available for other year groups during the summer term.
