This Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD), established in 2000, is marked each year on 27th January. This date marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration camp complex, and the 30th anniversary of the genocide in Bosnia. As part of the remembrance sixth form History students took part in a webcast organised by the Holocaust Educational Trust. The webcast is a special online event where thousands of schools, organisations and individuals across the UK came together to hear from Mala Tribich MBE about her experiences during the Holocaust. The students become witnesses to this lived history. We hope that by taking part in this event we have inspired our students to stand against hatred, intolerance and antisemitism.
